Lady Gaga is being accused of keeping proceeds that are due for the Japanese earthquake relief. The singer agreed to design a “We Pray for Japan” bracelet to help raise funds for the earthquake and tsunami victims. Buyers of the bracelet, which cost $5 each, had to pay almost just as much for shipping. Normal shipping costs would have been in the vicinity of $.50 instead of the $3.99 that was charged. There are also claims that not all of the proceeds are going to charity. Lady Gaga was in Japan performing in Japan at the MTV Music Video Aid Japan Show when the lawsuit against her was filed. Proceeds for that show are to benefit the Japanese Red Cross.

 

Jerry Seinfeld had several years of quiet after he ended the successful sitcom named after him. He chose to go back to his stand-up comic roots before he gradually made his comeback. It started with commercial webisodes, guestings, and a movie (although technically it was just his voice). Now, he’s actively producing and appearing on TV again. He’s a regular panelist in a rather controversial show called Marriage Ref, wherein people with real marital problems are involved. One former contest named Howie Kohlenberg is now blaming the show and Seinfeld, one of the producers, for the break-up of his marriage. Apparently, Kohlenberg’s wife deserted him and their son to pursue her Hollywood dreams after their appearance on the show. Seinfeld, in the meantime, is thrilled to be called a “homewrecker”.

 

Katy Perry co-wrote the new Selena Gomez track, “That’s More Like It.” Perry apparently wasn’t the only one who decided to lend a helping hand to the Disney star. Pop Princess Britney Spears co-penned the song, “Whiplash” for Gomez’s album. Now what did Gomez ever do to merit the support of two of the biggest names in the music industry? Anyway, Perry was recently seen sporting a new hair color which fans seem to be digging. The busy Mrs. Russell Brand released her newest single, “Thank God It’s Friday” earlier this month. Will “TGIF” be her first number one single from her album “Teenage Dream?” Perhaps the new hair color would help? We’ll see.

 

 

The remake of the Kevin Bacon hit, Footloose came out June 22. After a couple of casting issues the movie’s finally coming out this October. Originally considered for the role of Ren McCormack were Zac Efron and Chase Crawford but the production finally ended up with Kenny Wormald. Wormald is a classically-trained dancer and has choreographed for music videos for Korean artists, TVXQ and BoA. To play the role of Ariel Moore that Lori Singer first played is Julianne Hough of Dancing with the Stars. The first Footloose which launched Kevin Bacon to stardom delighted viewers for the awesome dancing, so people are looking forward to how Wormald will be able to carry the film along with Hough.

George Clooney and his Italian girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis have broken up. Did we really expect them to last forever? It’s George Clooney! Pretty soon we’ll be seeing him again with a new woman in his arm. The two have been mum about their split but in a recent interview with Canalis, she said that she will be married someday. Everybody knows that Clooney has sworn never to get married again. He was once married to actress, Talia Balsam; they were together for close to four years then got divorced in 1993.

 

US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is currently in Jamaica. She met with Caricom foreign ministers on Wednesday at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Spa. Despite the concerns about the relationship between Jamaica and the US, Clinton maintains that everything’s swell. News about a possible strain between the two countries came up because of Prime Minister Bruce Golding’s handling of the extradition request of the US for Christopher Coke. Clinton praised Jamaica’s efforts in addressing issues regarding drug cartels and crimes. The speech Clinton made is a reassurance that Jamaica and the US will continue working together. Her visit to the country is considered productive for both countries as well.

 

Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota representative will be announcing her candidacy for the highest position in the land on the 27th of this month. With all the required papers to make everything official submitted already, there’s no stopping Bachmann’s bid for the presidency. She will be making her announcement in Waterloo, Iowa on the said date. During a recent Republican primary debate held in New Hampshire, Bachmann was praised for her strong performance. This was a serious indication that Bachmann’s really taking things forward campaign-wise. Bachmann is already on her third time as representative of Minnesota. She is the new darling of the Tea Party and a strong favorite because of her solid Christian values.

 

The pop princess is sure bringing out the goods for her tour this year. Britney Spears gave a lap dance onstage to one of her male fans during her concert in LA earlier this month. The mother of two boys is back with new hits and a very successful concert tour which began this summer. After a tumultuous couple of years, Spears is now more in control and leaving her hair alone. Everybody was happy when she was finally able to make a successful comeback and managed to stay healthy after her stint in rehab. Much thanks to her family and the new man in her life, we’ll be seeing more of Spears doing what she does best. Spears is scheduled to perform in 33 cities for her tour this year.

 

The embattled star of Mean Girls is reportedly looking forward to appear in court on Thursday, June 23rd. After failing an alcohol test the previous week, we can only assume how the judge will admonish her regarding her behavior. Lohan’s currently under house arrest for pleading no contest to theft charges. She was already on probation for a drunken-driving case and drug conviction, prior to the jewelry- stealing incident which made everyone think that she’s just way out of control. If Lohan continues to cause trouble she could face up to three years of jail-time. The actress recently canceled her sit-down interview with Matt Lauer. According to her representative, she’s not yet ready to discuss the recent goings-on in her life. Lohan, who at such a young age showed so much promise has been in the dumps as far as her career is concerned, she has lost a couple of important film roles and has not been successful when she tried her hand at fashion design.

 

One of Hollywood’s most elusive stars, Keanu Reeves co-authored a book of poetry called “Ode to Happiness.” Reeves who lost his long-time girlfriend to a car accident penned sarcastic poetry which pokes fun at extreme melancholia. The Matrix actor revealed that he just started writing after listening to a marathon of melancholic and nostalgic songs on the radio. The book also contains ink-blot paintings to depict both the humor and sadness of the poems. Recent sightings of Reeves have made fans very concerned about his emotional and mental state. Gone is the image of the fun-loving “Ted” of “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey” and what we often see now is a man who’s always brooding and sullen. A picture of him looking sad and lonely, prompted fans to create a Facebook page aimed to cheer him up.
