Hang on to your braided pigtails (if you’re cool enough to have them), but American icon Willie Nelson is back on the road. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia to which the country superstar pleaded no contest. Texas border patrol officers on Interstate 10 had noticed the smell of pot inside the Redheaded Stranger’s tour bus, which led to Nelson’s arrest. Nelson is a known advocate of marijuana use and has been actively campaigning for its legalization for many years now. It seems the authorities will just have to keep on arresting him until they pass a law to this effect. However, Nelson has to stay out of trouble for about a month for the case to be dismissed. He also had to pay a $500 fine plus court expenses for this particular misdemeanor.

To commemorate the birthday of the man who was responsible for the solid-body electric guitar, Google displayed an interactive doodle in honor of Les Paul. Guitarists all over the world must have shed atear of gratitude as they took a moment to remember the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Credited for the invention of many recording innovations, he’s most known for his development of the solid-body electric guitar. Without this invention, the sound of rock and roll wouldn’t have been possible. A great musician through and through, Paul kept on rocking until the ripe old age of 94. He fully retired from the scene upon his death in 2009. His legacy truly lives on.

Australian beauty Nicole Kidman is also known for being fashion forward. She’s had her red carpet misses, but overall, her record has been good. Unfortunately, we can’t count her outfit at the 2011 CMT Music Awards as one of her hits. It was a blue, green and brown Proenza Schouler with short sleeves and an asymmetrical hemline. It left fashionistas from all over disappointed as they expected something better from the Oscar-winning actress. The outfit was a far cry from the lovely Nina Ricci number she wore to the SAGs and the gorgeous Jean Paul Gaultier gown she wore to the Grammys. Well, Ms. Kidman can be forgiven this time.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck provides the lone conservative voice in Barbara Walters’ “The View”. You can say that the woman’s self-confidence is pretty healthy as she frequently gets pummeled with the rest of the panel’s opposing views. Hasselbeck who rose to fame as one of the early Survivor beauties has been involved in several controversial tiffs, the most notorious of which was the one with Rosie O’ Donnell. She’s frequently butting heads with liberals, which is why it’s a surprise to hear her “attack” Sarah Palin. Hasselbeck claims that the former VP candidate is hogging the media attention, taking it away from the likes of Mitt Romney. She implied that the former Massachusetts governor is the answer the country’s economic woes and if the world’s most famous hockey mom would just make herself scarce, the people might actually realize it. Incidentally, Hasselbeck campaigned for Palin in 2008.

Emma Watson, whom we all fondly know as Hermione Granger, has officially left Brown University. There were reports of bullying but Watson said they were all just rumors. We all commended her for making it to such a highly-respected university but the actress has to deal with the fact that her life is just not ordinary. She took a leave from Brown in 2010 for the shooting of the last Harry Potter movie and then the promotions. Watson’s representatives said, the actress will continue with her studies in a different college and will likely go for a different course which isn’t available in Brown. She will be busy with promotions for the second part of Deathly Hallows this summer which will reunite her with friends and co-stars, Daniel Radcliffe who plays Harry Potter and Rupert Grint who plays Ron Weasley. Watson has another movie lined up to be shown this year, it’s My Week with Marilyn with Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh.

They were friends and she even considered him her mentor so it’s pretty understandable why CherylCole’s upset with Simon Cowell. Why he didn’t have the spine to tell her himself that she was getting axed from X-Factor will perhaps be the reason for the demise of their friendship. The usually brutally frank, Cowell failed to be so with Cole and she resents that. There was news that Cole would be given a second chance by the producers of the show but the British singer-songwriter’s no longer interested. Who would want to be in a show with someone you believe made a mockery of your friendship? Colewill be replaced by former Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger as one of the judges of the X-Factor USA. We’re looking forward to how Scherzinger will fare alongside Cowell in the next season of the show.

Everybody was so happy for Kirstie Alley when she made it to the finals of Dancing with the Stars; she had an entire nation rooting for her. Alley at first said she wasn’t keen on joining the competition…until she had a chance to dance with dimpled, Mario Lopez who did the show a couple of seasons back. She reportedly lost 38 inches after her dancing gig and she’s looking fabulous. The 60 year old actress is surely enjoying her new body which is obviously doing wonders for her love life. Alley was spotted kissing a younger man in New York recently. The guy looks young enough to be her son but the actress looks great these days. Again, we’re happy for her. Up and down, around and around.

It’s not like we haven’t seen the Kardashian girls flaunting the bodacious bodies before so what’s the big deal? Khloe, even with the advice of her stylist to wear a bra because of the sheerness of her blouse, decided to go the other way. She went on Fox News with older sister, Kourtney to promote the latest season of their family reality TV show, and gave the viewers a teat treat! The Kardashian girls are known for being naughty so that event was no surprise. Khloe apologized to the people she offended but claims she doesn’t think it’s a big deal. She continues to deal with matter playfully, even expressed her admiration for European woman who have no issues with nudity. The latest season of Keeping up with the Kardashians will start showing on June 12, 10/9c on E! Boobies.

We will no longer be seeing Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Raymond Langston on the hit show, CSI. Fishburne who came in after the departure of William Petersen has decided not to renew his contract with the show. Not many people are surprised; he wasn’t really expected to stay a long time. Nobody’s certain how his departure will be portrayed on CSI and no name has come up yet as to who will be replacing him on the show. The Emmy and Tony winner who’s known best for his role in the Matrix trilogy as Morpheus will be focusing more on his movie career. CBS is expected to make a formal announcement on Fishburne’s departure from the show soon. CSI’s shown every Wednesday, 10pm on CBS.

The MTV Movie Awards is notorious for crossing the line of what’s appropriate for TV. This weekend, Reese Witherspoon received the Generation Award and spoke about how different it was when she first came out. Sex videos, nude photos were supposed to be embarrassing and reality TV shows didn’t make stars, according to Witherspoon. This time MTV did something right. Witherspoon said she will make being good cool. In a country where lewd behavior is often commended, it’s refreshing to hear a lovely, talented actress make a stand to do what is right. There’s no doubt Reese Witherspoon can do it!
