The lead guitarist of Bon Jovi is out of rehab. Richie Sambora, 51, checked himself into a rehabilitation facility to regain his sobriety in April of this year. He spent the previous year touring with the band and was also reported to be quite exhausted. Close people to Sambora said, he had fallen back into theroutine of getting drunk during that time. Sambora suffered from the same thing when he and Heather Locklear got divorced and when his father passed away. He came out of rehab yesterday, happy and ready to reunite with his band in Croatia for their European tour. Bon Jovi will be performing in 22 cities this summer, let’s all wish Sambora manages better this time around.

Serena Williams is back! After missing the US Open and the Australian open, tennis fans are looking forward to the comeback of the four-time Wimbledon champ. Williams, who took a year off due to injuries, had a major health scare when she suffered from pulmonary embolism or a blood clot in herlung back in February. During her downtime, Williams was visible on TV through talk shows and she dabbled a bit into acting as well. Some people thought it was goodbye tennis and hello Hollywood for the tennis star who’s confessed to being very much into fashion…who can ever forget that catsuit she wore at the 2002 US open? All is well now, and she’s back on track and preparing for her comeback in Wimbledon this year. Many still expressed their concern over her health for she had two surgeries and a serious medical condition recently, plus she’s already pushing thirty. But we know that Serena Williams is a fighter and whatever the outcome will be, Wimbledon will enjoy her presence.

We all already know that finally Ann Curry will be assuming the role of co-anchor of the “Today Show.”  Curry’s been on the show for fourteen years now.  When Katie Couric left, it seemed like the logical choice to take over her position was Curry but NBC took Meredith Vieira in.  Despite that, Curry said she loved her job as news desk anchor and liked Vieira very much so it all worked out well though she definitely would have liked it if she had been asked.  Now is her time, on June 9 she will begin co-anchoring with Matt Lauer.  It’s a fact that people will miss Vieira but most expressed happiness for Curry. Curry still works as a substitute for NBC Nightly News and is a board member of the International Women’s Media Foundation.

It’s unheard of, right? The first one sank so why bother with another one? Titanic II is a movie that went straight to DVD; it’s not a sequel to the James Cameron film which starred Leonardo diCaprio and Kate Winslet because that’s just impossible.  It is however believed to be a “mockbuster” of the original Titanic movie.  Basically, it’s about a ship, the SS Titanic II whose maiden voyage came a century after the RMS Titanic.  It took on the same route of the ill-fated mega-luxury liner but in reverse direction.  If you want another movie about a sinking ship, this time with Global Warming to blame instead of a giant iceberg that appeared out of nowhere, rent the DVD of Titanic II.

How uncanny to have to Snow White films being produced around the same time! Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame is starring in “Snow White and the Huntsman” while Lily Collins is playing the same role in “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White”. Incidentally, Collins’ boyfriend Taylor Lautner is Stewart’s co-star in Twilight. Both movies have powerhouse beauties tackling the role of the Evil Queen. Stewart gets Charlize Theron as stepmother while Collins gets Julia Roberts. Both movies will be shown in 2012. Collins’ movie gets an earlier play date.

Shania Twain’s gorgeous, talented and incredibly sexy. When we learned of how she reached the top from her humble beginnings, we appreciated her even more. Her songs were catchy, her videos lovely basically because they featured her and we loved how in love she was with her husband. Things were quiet for a while and then bam! Rumors of a split-up and being cheated on by her husband with her best friend surfaced. Shania seemed to be at the worst time of her life. Her marriage fell apart and along with it her voice. She suffered from dysphonia and a fear of getting back onstage. Who could blame her? Then things started looking up. Before long, she found happiness again with the ex-husband of the woman who wrecked her marriage (revenge is sweet), and now, she’s back on stage, scoring a 2-year gig at Caesar’s Palace starting next year. Um, revenge?

British Actress Thandie Newton admits to having had an affair with a man who was 23 years her senior. The older man in question is Australian director Jon Duigan. Duigan directed her in her first film in which she starred with Nicole Kidman. The 38-year-old actress was only 16 when the affair happened. Sixteen happens to be the age of consent in both the UK and Australia. Duigan, who is now in his sixties, has not made any comments regarding the actress’s confession. Newton claims that she made her revelation to reach out to young girls who may be going through something similar.

Sweet Anne Hathaway of The Princess Diaries fame has certainly grown up. We’ve had time to get over the fact that she has started taking on mature roles. We’ve also had time to get over the shock of having her name dragged into criminal scandal, thanks to her ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri. Nevertheless, it is still with some doubt that we receive news that Hathaway will be playing Catwoman in the latest “The Dark Knight” installment. Will she be up to par? If you think the actress is not capable of kicking butts, you should talk to the stuntman Hathaway accidentally gave a shiner to. Hathaway apologized, of course, and accompanied her apology with a gift: a silver pen engraved with the words “Remember no one packs a punch like Anne.”

In case you’re one of those people who are still trying to figure out if Abe Vigoda’s already dead or not, you should have watched Meredith Vieira’s farewell show on TODAY. Vigoda is most known for his role in The Godfather as Sal Tessio. After that, he did TV work portraying the character Sgt. Phil Fish in a police sitcom called “Barney Miller”. He later starred in its spin-off “Fish”. Vigoda who is now 90 years old has had his death erroneously reported a few times in the past. This has been referenced in many pop culture jokes. Vigoda takes all this with good humor.

Following in the footsteps of her equally luminous older sister, Elle Fanning is showcasing her incredible talent in all the right projects. The 13-year-old recently finished seventh grade, but unlike other kids her age, she has work lined up for the rest of the year that many actors would give their eye for. The Fannings certainly know how to raise precocious children, a fact often made fun of on Saturday Night Live with the hilarious Amy Poehler spoofing Elle’s older sister Dakota. Elle talks about being under the direction of J.J. Abrams for the movie Super 8. Elle will also appear in films directed by Cameron Crowe and Francis Ford Coppola. There’s no doubt that Elle Fanning is on the same path that her sister had taken.
