Facebook as most of us already know has its roots in Harvard. Created by Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes in 2004, Facebook was initially exclusive to Harvard students. The service pretty soon expanded and was used in the neighboring universities, the Ivy League and Stanford University. The initial draw of Facebook was that you can chat with your friends when you’re logged in, a feature that was not available in other social media sites. The game applications also increased the logged in time of users. Recently, Facebook partnered with Skype which makes video-chatting so much easier. Though Facebook is banned in certain nations like China and some Islamic countries, it still remains the most visited social site with a steadily growing number of users daily.
