38 Years of The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless first came out in 1973 on CBS.  This soap opera set in Genoa City, a fictional town in Wisconsin was created by husband and wife, William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. The story initially focused on two families, the Brooks and the Foster families. Other families took over during the eighties. The original cast for the soap were mostly unknown actors who had that “glamorous model” appearance.  This soap was the first among all soap operas to be shown on high definition. Unlike All My Children, we’ll be seeing more of The Young and the Restless for CBS renewed its contract and it will continue to air until 2014.
