20 Years Since “Thelma & Louise”

Liberal Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon reunites with co-star Geena Davis to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1991 film “Thelma & Louise”. Both Sarandon and Davis earned Oscar nominations for their work in the movie, which won the Best Screenplay Award. Sarandon eventually earned her Best Actress trophy for her role in “Dead Man Walking”, another critically-acclaimed film. Although Sarandon didn’t bag her Best Actress Oscar for playing Louise, this is the role that is most associated with her. Sarandon has since become one of the most powerful actresses in Hollywood, providing her a platform for her various causes. She is a staunch human rights activist and has been appointed UN Goodwill Ambassador for her work with victims of hunger and HIV/AIDS. She separated in 2009 from fellow actor and activist Tim Robbins with whom she has two children.
